Authentic is the word!
From the chips with bean dip, Salsa Verde, and chipotle salsa to the flautas and chile rellenos, PERFECTION!!!
A great destination or stop off on the way to the Jersey Shore!!! -

I have to agree with huge portions and the wonderful salsas and bean dip. Also with the chicken being bland.
Our biggest problem was coming in for a quick bite and being abandoned by our waitress while she played on her phone and talked and talked and talked to other customers. We ordered the appetizer sampler and she didn't check back for over half an hour. There aren't napkin holders on the tables and it was frustrating to be abandoned by our waitress with decimated napkins and empty drinks.
When our order finally arrived, it was wrong and we had already been there over an hour.
A super frustrating experience. Also, no manager in sight. We literally did not want to spend an hour and half watching our waitress not wait on tables. My companion and I have both waited tables and had really looked forward to trying El Mariachi Loco. We may try the food again. (To go.) -

A nice sit down Mexican restaurant in downtown Hammonton. The food is delicious and comes to the table sizzling hot. We ordered the chicken quesadillas and fajitas. Generous portions and authentic tasting. The star of the dinner was the warm bean paste dip. Sounds and looks gross but was a welcomed addition to the standard salsa and chip starter.
The only issue and maybe it was just an off day, was that the servers seemed inattentive and off on the day we visited. Slow to no drink refills. Fajitas coming out without shells. Stuff like that. Overall great restaurant and would return. -

I ordered my normal steak taco salad and noticed the avocados were not fresh there was dark spots all over. Its pretty visible so I have no idea why they would serve it to customers. So I let the server know and she had asked for me to scoop the avocados on a separate plate to show the kitchen. Then later returns with normal green looking avocados. Come to find out when the check arrived they put a charge of $3 for the avocados. ???

4 stars because I can't give 3.5 and they're better than 3. The huge portions were amazing to look at. We both decided the flavor did really punch us in the mouth like we were expecting. Ant ordered the mole and I ordered a quesadilla as an app we ordered the guac (which was the best part). I'm glad we tried some where new but our heart is still at E Guacamole. The quesadilla while it had fresh ingredients it lacked flavor, the chicken seemed unseasoned. The Mole has flavor and was not spicy, but the inside of the burrito was also plain without the mole. The table is seated with a red and green sauce, and refried beans! I loved that the guac was a big portion we got to take a lot of what we ordered home.
